Wouldn't it be great to get Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell to pick up a copy of Ulysses before the centenary celebrations on Groundhog Day 2022?

Wouldn't it be great to get lots of people picking up copies of Ulysses and posting selfies with their books as we celebrate Joyce's life and life's work?

Wouldn't it be great to get people in Punxsutawney, Pennsylvania taking up the Groundhog Day Challenge in the lead up to their annual festival?

Can you imagine the cast and crew taking up this challenge? Can you imagine Ned and Nancy and Larry and Bill Murray´s older brother Brian reading it too?

Whoever The Groundhog Day Challenge inspires along the way, let's hope they enjoy readng about Edwardian Dublin as Leopold Bloom makes his way around the city.

For me, I make my way around Madrid listening to an audio version of Ulysses and trying to steal a few pages from the book whenever I have a seat on a train or metro.

Just like the classic comedy Groundhog Day, starring Bill Murray and Andie MacDowell that was directed by Harold Ramis, Bloomsday lasts just 24 hours but his book Ulysses took Joyce years to perfect.

It is worth celebrating the book, so why not start the Groundhog Day Challenge and post a picture with your copy. There are over 100 days to the 100 year anniversary so maybe you, just like Bill Murray's character Phil Conners, will have time to finish it.
